Privacy policy
EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 22, 2026
1. Who this policy is about
This policy describes how Amit Arora ("we", "us") handles information for the Super Notchy macOS app, website, purchases, and support. For a privacy question or request, contact [email protected].
Effective date: September 22, 2026.
2. What the macOS app reads
Super Notchy displays usage limits, reset times, account information, and supported agent or local-model activity. What it reads depends on the providers and features you enable:
- Provider usage and account information: allowance percentages, reset timestamps, plan or account labels, balances, and available activity statistics.
- Local provider data: supported apps’ sign-in files, keychain entries, usage caches, databases, logs, and session records. Some providers require a separate sign-in or an API key entered in Super Notchy.
- Session activity: session names, application or project context, process information, and working, waiting, or finished states. Some monitors inspect portions of local transcript records to derive status. Those records may contain conversation text.
- Local model information: loaded models, memory or context use, and supported speed and request statistics. An optional local Ollama relay handles model traffic to measure response speed and thinking; it is not designed to save prompts, reasoning, or replies.
The app uses this information to display the features you choose. Local session inspection should not be confused with a promise that the app never reads files containing prompts.
3. Connections to providers and other services
Super Notchy may make authenticated requests directly to your enabled providers’ endpoints, or to a local or configured model server. A provider receives the authentication and request data needed to answer those requests, along with ordinary network information such as the connecting IP address. Provider services have their own privacy policies and terms.
Where enabled in a release, automatic update checks contact the configured update host and download service. These requests reveal ordinary connection information and may include app/version information used for update delivery. You can control automatic updates in Settings.
If an available phone-link feature is enabled, paired devices on the local network can receive the displayed usage and session information. Pairing can be removed in Settings. This feature is not a cloud sync service.
Automatic updates check supernotchy.com for a signed update feed; that request carries the app version and ordinary connection information. Activating the app sends your activation code, purchase email, and an identifier for your Mac to our licensing service at api.supernotchy.com, which re-checks the licence about once a week. The service keeps the code, the email, the Mac identifier, and the dates involved so that one purchase can be limited to three Macs.
Services we rely on, each with its own privacy terms: Cloudflare (website hosting, DNS, the licensing service, and forwarding of email sent to us), ThriveCart (checkout), and Resend (sending activation and support email).
4. Information stored on your Mac
The app stores settings, enabled-provider choices, provider order, and last-known usage readings locally so it can restore its state between launches. It can also retain locally entered sign-in information or pairing credentials where a feature requires them. Depending on the provider, a credential may be borrowed from another installed tool or held in Super Notchy’s own local sign-in storage.
Switching a provider off stops its usage polling and removes its Super Notchy readings. It does not sign you out of the original tool. Explicit sign-in connections may have a separate sign-out control. Uninstalling an app does not necessarily remove all preferences, support files, or keychain items.
5. The website, purchases, and support
The website uses no advertising pixels, analytics SDKs, tracking cookies, or embedded third-party fonts. Cloudflare, which hosts it, may process access logs such as IP address, requested page, browser information, and request time for delivery and security. The support page has two forms; what you enter there is sent to our licensing service on Cloudflare and emailed to us through Resend.
ThriveCart processes the information needed to complete an order, such as contact, billing, payment, and tax information, and passes payment to its connected payment processor. We receive order identifiers, purchaser contact details, product and licence details, and payment or refund status. Payment details are entered at ThriveCart’s checkout, never on this website.
If you contact support, we receive what you send, which may include your name, email, order reference, and voluntarily supplied diagnostic information. Please avoid sending API keys, passwords, or unrelated conversation records.
6. Why information is used and retained
Information is used to provide the selected app features, deliver and maintain purchases, respond to support, process refunds, secure the service, and meet applicable legal obligations. Where a legal basis is required, the relevant basis depends on the activity: performing a contract, complying with law, legitimate interests such as security, or consent where required.
Local preferences and cached readings remain subject to the app’s controls and your Mac’s storage. Purchase, support, and server records should be retained only as long as needed for their stated purposes and applicable obligations.
Licence records are kept for as long as the licence is valid, and afterwards for as long as refund handling and legal obligations require. Support email is kept for as long as it is needed to resolve the request.
7. Sharing and your choices
Provider requests go to the connected services described above. Hosting, checkout, and support processors may handle information to perform those functions; we may also disclose information when legally required. The reviewed website does not sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
You can disable providers, sign out of explicit connections, change app preferences, disable automatic update checks, and remove paired devices where supported. You may also contact [email protected] to request information about, correction of, or deletion of information we hold. Applicable privacy law may provide additional rights, including access, objection, restriction, portability, or a complaint to a regulator. We may need to verify a request, and legal obligations may require retaining certain records.
We are based in the United States. Cloudflare, ThriveCart, and Resend operate there and on global networks, so information may be processed in the United States or elsewhere under those providers’ safeguards.
8. Security, children, and changes
We aim to limit access to information and use appropriate safeguards. No software or transmission method can guarantee absolute security. Super Notchy is a developer utility and is not directed to children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information through our purchase or support channels.
We may update this policy as the product or services change. The current policy will show its effective date. Material changes will be communicated as required; this policy does not authorize undisclosed new data uses.
